We were in PA for Thanksgiving. Some of you are aware that Joan's sister, Judy, has been quite ill with heart problems. Joan flew in early and was with her during a major surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

Joan is the wonderful nurse / caregiver she always has been. Her sister appreciated her presence. And of course she continues to devote much of her time to caring for daughter Kari. On the church front, Joan is wrapping up a ladies Bible Study she has been leading.

Kari remains, amazingly, about the same in her health. Flu viruses have been all around us, but she keeps plugging away. A little extra Benadryl for allergies (along with her other meds) seems to clear up any congestion. One of her favorite things is listening to her IPod Shuffle that we gave her when she turned 23 in October.

Jeremy has a full semester with Speech and Debate, Latin, Geometry, History, Phys Ed and more. And he has completed behind the wheel and has now logged 44 hours on his way to the required 50 hours. He hopes to graduate to license status on his 16th birthday in April. He continues to deliver newspapers as his means of financial gain. He also serves on the puppet and praise teams at church.
